Question to the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero:
To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, whether her Department monitors the amount of food waste generated by its offices each month.
This question was answered on 9th September 2026
The Government Property Agency and HM Revenue and Customs record the amount of food waste generated in their offices which the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and many other departments occupy. This information is then reported to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs as part of the Greening Government Commitment Framework.
