Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, how many people with physical disabilities require adapted accommodation from local authorities, broken down by each local authority area in the South East.

Government does not hold this information.

The English Housing Survey periodically asks about housing adaptation needs. At the last time this was asked in 2019-20, 8% of all households in England (1.9 million) had at least one person with a long-standing physical or mental health condition who said they required adaptations to their home. This is based on a sample survey and cannot be broken down to local authority area level.
