Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:
To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what assessment her Department has made of the potential impact of a reduction in the number of licensed greyhound stadiums in England on the welfare and rehoming of retired greyhounds.
The Greyhound Board of Great Britain (GBGB) is responsible for the welfare of greyhounds on GBGB licensed tracks, including ensuring the welfare of racing greyhounds that have left tracks that have closed. Defra continues to monitor closely GBGB’s work in ensuring the welfare and homing of greyhounds.
