Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what discussions her Department has had with Biogen regarding the company's withdrawal of its evidence submission to NICE for the appraisal of omaveloxolone for the treatment of Friedreich's ataxia.

The Hon Member is right to point out that the company in question withdrew its evidence submission to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), meaning that NICE was unable to complete its appraisal of omaveloxolone. All the potential discussions that the Hon Member asks about are therefore contingent on the company making a new evidence submission.
