Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, further to the oral statement by the Prime Minister of 1 September 2026, Official Report, whether (1) No10 North and (2) the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet was (a) consulted and (b) involved in the recent pay rise agreed with Avanti West Coast.

The recent pay settlement reached at Avanti West Coast, with ASLEF, was taken forward in line with principles for 2026 rail pay settlements agreed with the previous Prime Minister’s office before No.10 North’s establishment.
