Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, with reference to the answer of 22 April 2026, to Question 126744, on Electoral Register: Commonwealth, what estimate has the Home Office made of the proportion of the one million Commonwealth nationals living in the UK who have a form or type of permission to enter or stay, whether indefinite, time limited or conditional.

Statistics regarding the UK population are a matter for the independent Office for National Statistics (ONS). However, ONS population statistics are not broken down by immigration status, and the Home Office does not hold the information requested.
