Our assessment of the poverty impact of changes to social security announced at Spring statement 2025, including changes to Universal Credit, is available here: Spring statement social security changes: updated impact on poverty levels in Great Britain, July 2025 - GOV.UK. This includes an assessment of the impact on child poverty specifically.

In addition to changes to Universal Credit, the Child Poverty Strategy also takes action to tackle the cost of essentials, including housing, childcare and food, to ease the pressures on working families, and strengthen local support and services for families.
