Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to the answer of 9 September 2026 to question 23295 on Police: Databases, for what reason the Final Endpoint Switchover date for the Law Enforcement Data Service was re-planned to March 2027.
LEDS is already operating at scale across law enforcement, has exceeded 100 million transactions and is now the primary operational source of DVLA driver and property data. The date therefore relates to completing the final transition safely and responsibly. The Government’s priority is protecting the public and that entails a safe and fully assured migration of critical policing services. The revised March 2027 date is the earliest point at which the remaining technical, operational and propitiatory user readiness activities can be confidently completed before final transition.
