Greenhouse Gas Removals will be important for achieving reaching net zero – balancing residual emissions from hard-to-decarbonise sectors while providing new economic opportunities.

Carbon Budgets apply to the whole of the UK economy and society and the Carbon Budgets and Growth Delivery Plan published in October 2025 details the cross economy-package, including the role of GGRs, which will enable the UK to meet Carbon Budgets 4-6.
