Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, by when will he commence his review of the current deal to handover sovereignty of the British Indian Ocean Territory to Mauritius.

The Prime Minister and Defence Secretary have both been clear that the deal cannot go ahead without US support. We need to find a resolution, and we will work with both the US and Mauritius to find one. We do not intend to provide a running commentary on these conversations.
