To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, what assessment has been made of whether any AI developer has located training activity outside the UK because of the UK copyright regime.

In March we published a report and impact assessment on AI and copyright, which included an initial assessment of this issue. As set out in this report, we are continuing to gather evidence regarding the extent to which the copyright regime influences training location (amongst other factors). We will also continue to monitor international developments and engage with copyright owners, AI developers, and others, to understand the impacts of the existing copyright regime.
