Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, whether diplomatic assets are being redeployed to contested regions in Africa and the Middle East.
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) maintains a global diplomatic network and keeps the deployment of its staff and resources under regular review to ensure they are aligned with Government priorities.
Resource allocations may be adjusted as the evolving geopolitical context and operational requirements change. In Africa and the Middle East, the UK maintains a significant diplomatic presence in support of UK interests, including security, regional stability, economic growth, migration objectives and the protection of British nationals.
