Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what steps he is taking to persuade the EU to renew sanctions on Russian billionaires.

We continue to work closely with the EU and other international partners to increase economic pressure on Russia. It is for the EU to comment on their sanctions decisions.

As the Prime Minister has made clear, the UK is committed to further sanctions on Russia. To date, the UK has sanctioned over 3,500 individuals, entities and ships under our Russia sanctions regime, of which over 3,300 were imposed since the full-scale invasion in 2022 and 500 imposed in 2026 alone.
