Question to the Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade:
To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, what regulatory guardrails are being placed on commercial providers operating critical data centres in the UK.
The Government recognises the critical role that commercially operated data centres play in supporting our economy, public services and national security. Through the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill, qualifying data centres will be brought within the Network and Information Systems regulatory framework, requiring operators to take appropriate and proportionate measures to manage risks to their network and information systems and strengthening incident-reporting arrangements.
