To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, with reference to The Defence Investment Plan Funding explainer, published on 30 June 2026, if she can confirm whether her department is required to contribute to the funding laid out under line 5, “Reduce departmental capital budgets by one per cent”.

Yes - The Home Office is required to contribute to the funding laid out under line 5 of the Defence Investment Plan explainer.

Departments have been asked to contribute 1p in every £1 of their capital budgets to fund this Government’s Defence Investment Plan, helping keep the country safe in an increasingly volatile world.
