Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, with reference to the response of 9 February 2026 to UIN 110069, for what reason the next stage of the River Thames Scheme has not taken place; and what recent progress she has made on that project.

The River Thames Scheme is currently undertaking a reset to ensure it remains affordable, deliverable and provides value for money. For this reason, a timetable is not available for the project.

I refer the hon. Member to the response given on 15 June 2026 to PQ UIN 9703 for details on the benefits.
