To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what assessment her Department has made of trends in the levels of household participation in weekly food waste collections under Simpler Recycling.

The WRAP UK Recycling Tracker indicates increasing participation in food waste recycling. In 2025-26, around two in five respondents reported receiving a food waste collection service for the first time, while 39% reported disposing of uneaten food in a food waste recycling bin, up from 35% in 2025 and 33% in 2023.
