The Recognised Professional Bodies (RPBs) are responsible for regulating the insolvency practitioners they authorise. They have powers under their regulatory and disciplinary procedures to take interim action where appropriate whilst concerns are investigated. The Insolvency Service monitors the effectiveness of the RPBs' regulatory activities as part of its oversight of the regulatory framework.
