V levels are designed to require the same length of commitment as an A level: 360 guided learning hours, taken over two years. V levels are designed to enable assessments to be taken across both years one and two of the qualification. If students complete assessments in the first year, they will receive a results transcript from the relevant awarding organisation showing details of their attainment. This is in line with practice for current vocational qualifications. There are no plans to issue a separate one-year award. We aim to encourage as many students as possible to complete the full two-year course, in order to support progression to higher-level study and skilled employment
