The Food Standards Agency has its own annual sampling programme, and it also funds some local authority sampling. The total number of food supplement samples taken through these programmes in each of the last three calendar and financial years is set out below.

The types of food supplements sampled included those containing caffeine; cannabidiol (CBD); weight loss and fat burners; creatine; protein and workout products; egg membrane; ashwagandha and vegan/non-dairy protein powders.
