Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, whether her Department has provided guidance to its arm's length bodies on the use and deployment of AI.

The department has not issued specific guidance to its arm’s length bodies on the use and deployment of artificial intelligence (AI). Arm’s length bodies are responsible for ensuring that their use of AI complies with relevant legal, regulatory and cross-government requirements, including government guidance on safe and responsible use of AI. The department engages with its arm’s length bodies on digital and technology matters as appropriate.
