Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, what assessment he has made of the effect of changes to the combined heat and power tariff from 10 to 20 per cent efficiency on the (a) use and (b) price of energy generated by Organic Rankine Cycle turbines.

The Renewable Heat Incentive consultation on support for Biomass Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant closed on 10 March. This consultation proposed changing the current 10% power efficiency requirement for biomass CHP plants applying to the RHI scheme to a 20% power efficiency requirement.
