The Government's Nature Security Assessment, published in January, found that global ecosystem degradation and collapse threaten UK national security and prosperity.

The focus is now on moving to preparedness and action. At home, the Climate and Nature Security Taskforce brings together external experts.

Internationally, the Foreign Secretary, with the EU and Kenya, convened Foreign Ministers at UNGA. They committed to collective action including across early warning systems and food and water security.

We committed an additional £1 million to the UN Climate Security Mechanism; and will appoint a Special Representative for Climate Security.
