Question to the Wales Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales, whether he has had discussions with the Welsh Government on the potential impact of the proposed visitor levy on the Welsh economy.

I am pleased that the UK Government has followed the lead of the previous Welsh Labour Government by giving local leaders in England powers to introduce an overnight visitor levy. The visitor levy empowers councils in Wales to strengthen the visitor economy - boosting tourism and enhancing the experience for all who visit.
