To ask His Majesty's Government what the total headcount of full time equivalent staff within the Civil Service was on 4 July 2024.

Headcount (HC) and full-time equivalent (FTE) Civil Service employment numbers are published quarterly in arrears each with a reference date as at 31 March, 30 June, 30 September and 31 December by Office for National Statistics (ONS) as part of their Public Sector Employment Statistics release.
Data are available as at 30 June 2024 and show that overall Civil Service employment stood at 546,265 (HC) and 513,200 (FTE).
