Question

To ask Her Majesty’s Government how many apprenticeships there are in the field of design; and whether they plan to take steps to increase the number.

We are taking action to support and encourage the growth of apprenticeships in all sectors to meet our commitment to 3 million starts over this Parliament. We are working with large and small businesses to find ways to encourage employers, colleges and schools to work together to increase the number of apprenticeships.


Over 1300 employers are currently involved in designing new apprenticeship standards including in Design-related occupations such as Product Design & Development Engineer; Product Design & Development Technician; Visual Effects Designer and Software Developer - with more in development.
