Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask His Majesty's Government in which financial year they last received financial assistance from the European Union towards the maintenance, improvement or operation of the E22 European route between Holyhead and Immingham; and what amounts were received in that financial year and in each of the preceding five financial years in respect of that route.

Information on the funding of the E22 European route between Holyhead and Immingham is not held centrally by the Department.

Much of the route forms part of the Strategic Road Network in England, which is managed by National Highways. National Highways received no funding from the European Union in relation to those sections during Road Investment Period 2 (2020-25), the Interim Year (2025/26), or Road Investment Period 3 (2026-31). Parts of the route form part of the Strategic Road Network in Wales and are therefore the responsibility of the Welsh Government.
