Question to the Home Office:
To ask His Majesty's Government, further to the answer by Lord Hanson of Flint on 8 July (HL Deb col 205), what progress they have made in discussions with the government of Pakistan; and what options are under review in respect of visa issuance.
The Government continues to engage closely with the Government of Pakistan on migration matters, including those of interest to the wider public. We are clear that those with no right to remain in the United Kingdom should be returned, and we will continue to work with international partners to achieve this.
Regarding Visa Issuance, the Government keeps all appropriate options under review and will take action where necessary. Decisions on the operation of the visa system are taken in accordance with the Immigration Rules and applicable legal framework.
