Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask His Majesty's Government whether they define industrial poultry production as farming.

Large intensive poultry farms are part of the agricultural sector. Poultry farms with capacity above 40,000 poultry places require an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting Regulations, and emissions limits are set and enforced to protect the environment and human health.
