Question to the Department for International Development:
To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether they intend to pledge any funds to assist United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East in Gaza to restart its cash assistance programme in Gaza.
In response to the Gaza conflict last summer, the UK has already provided £9million to the UNRWA Gaza Flash Appeal which has been used to provide rental subsidies and cash assistance.
The UK also remains the third largest donor to the UNRWA General Fund, providing £106.5million between 2012 and 2015. Future funding decisions will be based on an assessment of need and the resources available.
