Fostering dialogue between parliament, local government, the armed and emergency services, businesses and charities to evaluate the effectiveness of the UK's preparedness and ability to respond to locally. To monitor and consider the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and any changes to, or the introduction of, new emergency powers/civil defence legislation.
