Question to the Department for Education:
To ask Her Majesty's Government, further to the answer by Lord Agnew of Oulton on 30 April (HL Deb, col 857), how many children have (1) moved out of poverty, and (2) moved into poverty, in each year since 2010 for which figures are available.
Answered by Lord Agnew of Oulton
I issued a letter of correction on 9 May 2019 explaining that my reference to children moving out of poverty since 2010 should have been a reference to the number of children in workless households. There are now 665,000 fewer children in workless households compared with 2010. A copy of my letter has been placed in the Libraries of both Houses.

Question to the Department for Education:
To ask Her Majesty's Government, further to the Written Answer by Lord Nash on 18 September (HL1398), what plans they have to review which activities outside Great Britain may be in scope of the Equality Act 2010.
Answered by Lord Agnew of Oulton
As stated in my previous answer, some employer activities outside Great Britain may fall within the scope of the Equality Act 2010, but this will depend on whether, in any given case, the employment relationship is found to have a strong connection with Great Britain, and the Government has no plans to review the matter.

Question to the Department for Education:
To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they are planning to amend the Race Relations Act 1965 and subsequent related legislation to clarify the extent to which that legislation applies to the activities outside the UK of UK-based (1) companies, and (2) directors.
Answered by Lord Nash
The employment provisions of the Equality Act 2010 (“the Act”), which supersedes previous equalities legislation, only apply to employer activities in Great Britain. Some activities outside Great Britain may also be in scope of the Act, if the employment relationship is found to have a strong connection with Great Britain. The Government has no plans to amend the Act in this respect.
