Asked by: Lord Beith (Liberal Democrat - Life peer)

Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what targets have been set for the release of his Department's material to the National Archives; what progress has been made in meeting those targets; and how many staff in his Department are engaged in reviewing records for that purpose.

Answered by Steve Webb

The Department’s target is to transfer 1873 records to The National Archives (TNA) by 31 December 2014. On current plans these will be transferred by the end of October 2014. After that date no files will be outstanding. There are five staff engaged in reviewing records for transfer to TNA.
