Question to the Leader of the House:
To ask the Leader of the House, what steps she is taking to establish an independent human resources department to support Members and their staff in Parliament.
Answered by Andrea Leadsom - Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department of Health and Social Care)
I refer the Hon. gentleman to the statement made in the House on Thursday 21 December 2017; there will be a new, interim provision of HR support and guidance for the staff of Members, beginning after the recess, while consideration is given to the need for a broader HR service. HR support will also be accessible to Members’ staff working on the parliamentary estate, in constituency offices, and those who are collectively employed by the parties.
