Written Question
Russia: Subversion
Thursday 19th July 2018

Asked by: Lord Rennard (Non-affiliated - Life peer)

Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask Her Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of the extent to which Russia may be seeking to promote far-right parties in different European countries in order to promote the break up of the EU.

Answered by Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon

We also know the Kremlin persistently uses disinformation to destabilise states. Managing this is a long-term priority for the UK, and we will continue to work with international partners, primarily through the EU, G7 and NATO, to constrain the effects of Russian behaviour.
