Written Question
Integrated Schools: Northern Ireland
Monday 6th February 2017

Asked by: Lord Swire (Conservative - Life peer)

Question to the Northern Ireland Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, what discussions he has had with the Secretary of State for Education during preparation of the Government's Green Paper, Schools That Work For Everyone, published on 12 September 2016, on the work of the Integrated Education Fund; and if he will make a statement.

Answered by James Brokenshire

I am aware of the consultation on ‘Schools That Work For Everyone’ which was published by the Secretary of State for Education in September last year.

As this proposed policy only applies to schools in England, and education is a devolved matter in Northern Ireland, I had no discussions with the Secretary of State for Education on the work of the Integrated Education Fund, during the preparation of the Government’s Green Paper.
