SHEAP plays a key role providing energy at a fair price – if they were not doing what they do then fuel poverty would be even higher in the isles than it already is. We need to see the government go further to back district heating, cut bills and reduce fuel poverty in the isles.
Good news as HMRC has changed course to allow SHEAP and other district heating orgs to use rebated fuel, following representations. Denying access for these organisations made no sense at the time or since so I am delighted that ministers have U-turned. https://t.co/MdyO75D0m2
(The question, of course, is rhetorical.)
@ShetlandStuart There may be some words to be had.
How will we see progress on ferries, A9 dualing and the like - to say nothing of long term challenges like fixed links - if the person in charge of transport is peering into the cabinet room through the window waiting for a word with the boss?
Confirmed then that transport has been dropped to a second string position outside cabinet. Is that really tenable? https://t.co/uYfP3rI09J
Apparently transport is not a priority then, since it is no longer a cabinet position. Islanders will wonder how much less of a priority transport could become at this point. https://t.co/geAboo6j67
@Aiannucci I fear the Home Office has been plagiarising you with this latest stunt.
The true genius of the Conservatives - only this Home Office crew could think that the solution to small boats would be to put all of them together on one big boat. https://t.co/TmOwhpHytV
This is where we see the continuity between Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak - distracting from their myriad failures to deliver competent government by announcing immoral, ridiculous, unworkable schemes. https://t.co/p38bWnMGwj
