As a Solicitor representing survivors of catastrophic injuries, I was always so impressed by the work at Golden Jubilee Spinal Centre @JamesCookMTC. It was such an honour to return in my parliamentary role to hear of their ongoing magnificent work. Big thanks to Glynis Peat.🙏 https://t.co/pWSak8G5A1
A very thoughtful piece. https://t.co/t27TjuTNlO
What is “deeply irresponsible” is trying to stop the search for answers to this disaster. It’s the oldest trick in the book to say those who ask questions and hold government to account are anti growth and anti jobs. Unfortunately for Simon he’s not going to succeed. https://t.co/E4uUKGznN1
If the Minister met the fishers as we @ACunninghamMP & @JimfromOldham did, they’d soon explain why there have been “no reports of further mortality events” as she puts it. There’s nothing left alive. No prawns, no crabs, no lobsters. And no plan from government. https://t.co/AyAR4JVfZI
This is causing concern for many people. This issue isn't going away & the spotlight is rightly shining on this disaster. We'll press for more investigations until we get answers. Our coastline was blighted with dead crustaceans & stocks haven't recovered. We need to know why. https://t.co/TkEA0isIDZ
Appalling response from the Minister saying she doesn’t "need to meet with them". The Seafood Fund for long term infrastructure investment is of no relevance to their urgent financial plight & she knows it. She won’t meet them because she couldn’t tell them that to their faces. https://t.co/OZOr3YqZXZ
@JayMitchinson @SimonClarkeMP @yorkshirepost @defra Quite simply they don’t know the cause. Listen to the Fishers. They know what they are talking about & must be part of any recovery. Seemingly your government’s plan is to leave it to God & providence as to whether these species return to our waters. Not good enough Simon. (4)
@guyrbailey @henrimurison @NP_Partnership @TheNorthernEcho @lisanandy @MattLavender17 @KiMcGuinness @EchoNickG @path_dependent @BBCRichardMoss @BBClukewalton @PccJoyAllen @grahamemorris Up with Teesside! Up with growth, jobs and economic prosperity for the many not the few. Down with cronyism, corruption and pork barrel politics. Is there something wrong with your tHuMbS?
@JayMitchinson @SimonClarkeMP @yorkshirepost The inshore waters of the North Sea off Teesside are barren after this event. No prawns, no crabs or lobsters. Now the @Defra assembled panel has examined alternative possibilities but all of them are deemed by the authors themselves to be unlikely and all are unproven. (3)
@JayMitchinson @SimonClarkeMP @yorkshirepost You say you're working with Therese Coffey to come up with financial assistance for the Fishers. I am pleased to hear it. Can we have the details please? Something has caused this ecological disaster yet there is no ongoing government investigation to identify that cause. (2)
