Sorry to learn of the death of Nigel Lawson. One of freedom’s warriors. A reminder of a time of purposeful change unpinned by clarity of thought and principled conviction. A politician prepared to lead public opinion not merely follow a focus group or group polling. RIP Nigel.

@BBCMarkSimpson @TVconormac I always thought that it was utterly ridiculous that you are expected to wait outside the gates with no facilities when these things are going on. Media aren’t the enemy. Lots of room to make provision for you. At least I tried to come and talk to you - without getting seen!

Really enjoyed my visit to Moordown St John's school. Spoke to the school assembly about our exciting competition, had tour of the classrooms and faced a great interrogation by the school Parliament. Thanks to all for the warmth of the welcome. https://t.co/CrbOQY4ZDu

It was a delight to welcome my dear friend Ann Widdecombe to Bournemouth again. Ann's career has rested on straight talking, directness and conviction. And she is about the most loyal friend a person could have. A great evening enjoyed by all present. https://t.co/3ds250E8fE
