To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, whether illegal immigrants who have recently crossed the English Channel are being housed in hotels in Southend West constituency.

We do not provide accommodation to illegal immigrants.Asylum seekers who would otherwise be destitute are provided with free, fully furnished accommodation while applications are considered.

The number of asylum seekers accommodated in each local authority can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/statistical-data-sets/asylum-and-resettlement-datasets#asylum-support, this includes the numbers of those accommodated in hotels
