@Simongall have signed up!
@samknightwrites hi Sam, I’ve followed you so you can DM me! Regards, Eilidh
@ashdouglasscot If I can! The technology may be an issue... what’s your email?
@ashdouglasscot I wrote about Willa muir in 1990s in an unpublished dissertation from univ. Guelph, but it is available in Glasgow Uni library. It’s a bit dated but I think I was the first to highlight the homoeroticism of Imagined Corners.
@RickyDJTaylor @KarenAdamSNP @taylor_elden @MareeToddMSP @jessmmanson @KirstySNP @NicolaSturgeon I’m glad your Mam is at the top of that list ?
@RogMull @nhsfife Best wishes to Barbara for a swift recovery!
@AileenMcHarg @TriciaMarwick @PeatWorrier You mean they didn’t do it in front of the class as a warning to the others? In retrospect I can see now that it was the teachers with qualms who took them out to the corridor.
@AileenMcHarg @TriciaMarwick @PeatWorrier I recall a plebiscite of parents at my school overwhelmingly backed its retention too (the lefty parents of bookish daughters excepted!) . Can you imagine the uproar if belting bairns was proposed now? We’ve travelled some distance.
@AileenMcHarg @TriciaMarwick @PeatWorrier I left school in 87 - still in use in Grampian at that point. I remember lots of otherwise reasonable people predicting impending anarchy in schools. It was ‘unthinkable’ that schools could function without the belt. 1/2
@AileenMcHarg @TriciaMarwick @PeatWorrier It was only banned in some parts of Scotland in 1982.
