The East Midlands is benefitting too as one of the key areas for growth in space-related income. Our region is home to 80 space company headquarters, with 116 space-related sites, generating over £111 million and employing almost 1,200 local people 🛰️

The space industry created almost 1,800 more British jobs in just one year. Almost 49,000 are now directly employed in the UK space sector, with 126,800 jobs supported throughout the supply chain 💼

The British space sector grew much faster than the global average to £17.5 billion. We saw strong growth of 5.1% over 2020/21, compared to just 1.6% globally 📈

43% of our trade with CPTPP members last year was in services, and UK➡️CPPTP remotely delivered services were worth £20.5 billion in 2020 🗂️ This agreement reduces barriers and – importantly – sets modern rules for digital trade across all sectors of the economy 👨‍💻

Tariffs will be reduced or eliminated on dairy, chocolate & whisky exports, encouraging more of the world to enjoy British produce 🇬🇧 Our standards are protected across the board – in healthcare, the environment, animal welfare, food – and we hold a veto on new joiners 🌳
