Written Question
Work Capability Assessment
Tuesday 17th October 2017

Asked by: Greg Knight (Conservative - East Yorkshire)

Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what plans his Department has to reform the work capability assessment.

Answered by Penny Mordaunt

We consulted on reform of the Work Capability Assessment in the Improving Lives Green Paper. We received around 6,000 consultation responses, supported by 166 accessible events across the country. Our officials have been working hard since the Green Paper consultation to analyse that fantastic response. We are working towards an autumn publication, which will provide an update on the recent work we’ve been doing, respond to the consultation, and set out our next steps.
