Despite some tough talk, P&O have faced no consequences for their dreadful actions a year ago & the CEO remains in position. P&O said loud & proud that they would do it again. This is nothing short of class war & the government have picked their side. @RMTunion @nautilusint https://t.co/YKKLYaNDZJ

Tomorrow I have a Westminster Hall debate on the lessons learned from the redundancies at P&O Ferries a year ago. Rather than ensure this can never happen again, the government have doubled down on their attacks on workers' rights. Things must change.

Labour Party democracy is built upon the right of local members, trade unions, and affiliates to choose their own candidate to represent them and their views. I strongly urge the NEC to defend this right for the members of Islington North CLP at tomorrow’s meeting.

Solidarity with @GMB_union members at Pilgrim Foods fighting cowardly threats of fire and rehire ✊ A government interested in protecting hard working people would have banished this practise a long time ago. #FryerandRehire https://t.co/lbeMxkiEDw

The PM is either mistaken or disingenuous when he says that 2 million fewer people are in poverty today than in 2010. Child poverty in the North East has risen at truly shocking levels in recent years. If the government thinks this is progress then we are in deep, deep trouble. https://t.co/MU7doBVUPJ

While over 500,000 workers walk out on strike we hear not a peep from the Chancellor on tackling our chronically falling wages. But don’t worry, he found almost £20 billion in tax cuts for corporations, pensions for highest earners, and cuts to fuel duty. Desperate times.

On the picket line bright and early supporting @pcs_union workers taking industrial action. 40,000 civil servants are forced to use foodbanks due to low pay which continues to fall in real terms. They should not and will not stand by and accept this. #Budget2023 https://t.co/RjrN5F2Bvv

A massive message of solidarity to all workers taking strike action today. This is not just a fight for jobs today, but for the future of our vital institutions and workers rights in the 21st century. 👊🏼✊🏼
