Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:
To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, what plans he has to support small businesses after the UK leaves the EU.
Answered by Margot James
We are working hard to support businesses and entrepreneurs across the UK to ensure they can access the wider support to grow and have the right conditions for companies to invest long-term. That’s why we are proposing a bold and ambitious free trade agreement as part of a new, deep and special partnership with the European Union.
In order to allow business time to adjust, we are also proposing a strictly time-limited implementation period where we continue to have access to one another’s markets on current terms.
