To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, how many people, other than special advisers, have been appointed to civil service posts in his Department without open competition since 4 July 2024; what their (a) job titles and (b) salary bands are; and on what basis each was appointed.

Every person appointed to a civil service post within the Northern Ireland Office since 4 July 2024, has been recruited via fair and open competition.

Question to the Northern Ireland Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, what (a) direct ministerial and (b) other public appointments to his Department and associated bodies have (i) been (A) removed from their posts and (B) asked to resign and (ii) made since 4 July 2024.

Since becoming Secretary of State for Northern Ireland on 5 July, no direct ministerial or other public appointees have been asked to resign or been removed from office.

I have confirmed the following direct ministerial appointments: Anna Jerzewska, Alistair Hamilton and Aidan Reilly as members of the new Windsor Framework Independent Monitoring Panel and Baroness Foster as Chair of Intertrade UK.

I have also made the following public appointments that were regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments: Nazia Latif as Commissioner to the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland and Mairead Holder as Commissioner to the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission.

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, what discussions the Prime Minister's Office have had with (a) HM Treasury and (b) the Northern Ireland Office on the Casement Stadium redevelopment.

The Prime Minister’s Office is in frequent contact with departments across government on a whole range of issues to ensure the effective delivery of government policy, as has been the case under successive administrations.

The UK Government is committed to ensuring that EURO 2028 benefits the whole of the United Kingdom. That is why we are working as quickly as possible with all the partners involved in the Casement Park project to assess the options available.

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, what total amount her Office spent on ministerial travel by (a) the Government Car and Despatch Agency and (b) other car hire in (i) 2007-08, (ii) 2008-09 and (iii) 2009-10.

Because of the devolution of policing and justice functions on 12 April 2010, and subsequent reconfiguration of the Northern Ireland Office, my Department does not hold figures for the periods prior to 2010; attempting to obtain this information would incur disproportionate cost.
