Oral Answers to Questions
"But what urgent action can be taken to counter Iran’s malevolent involvement in destabilising the middle east? We have already heard reference to Hezbollah being armed by Iran, but Iran is also arming Hamas in Gaza with rockets aimed specifically at Israeli communities within Israel, across the border from Gaza. …..."Louise Ellman - View Speech

Iran’s Influence in the Middle East
"I, too, congratulate the hon. Member for Hendon (Dr Offord) on securing this important debate.
Iran has an appalling human rights record at home and is a dangerous promoter of international terrorism abroad. At home, dissent is not tolerated. Baha’is, Christians, Sunni Muslims and Sufis all face attack. Some 90 …..."Louise Ellman - View Speech

Iran’s Influence in the Middle East
"I agree. Indeed, the challenge of dealing with Iran is that, as well as taking direct action itself, it works through other organisations and groups. It is a wholly negative and destructive force. Question
to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what representations he has made to his South African counterpart on the murder of Christine Robinson at the Rra-Ditau Lodge in 2014; and if he will make a statement.
Answered by Tobias Ellwood
I would like to take this opportunity to offer my deepest condolences to the family of Christine Robinson who was tragically murdered in South Africa in 2014. The Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my Rt Hon. Friend the Member for Uxbridge and South Ruislip (Mr Johnson) has not raised this case with his South African counterpart; However Foreign and Commonwealth Office officials in South Africa and London continue to engage regularly with the South African authorities and will provide what support we can to the family at this difficult time. While we cannot interfere in another country's investigation we will ensure that the South African authorities are aware of the family's concerns and our desire to see those guilty brought to justice.

Occupied Palestinian Territories: Israeli Settlements
"It is extremely important that we recognise and reaffirm the importance of two states—Israel and Palestine—in resolving this tragic conflict between two peoples who are both legitimately seeking self-determination.
