Written Question
Belfast Agreement
Monday 10th July 2017

Asked by: Martin Docherty-Hughes (Scottish National Party - West Dunbartonshire)

Question to the Northern Ireland Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, what legal advice his Department has taken on whether the agreement reached between the Government and the Democratic Unionist Party meets the requirement of impartiality contained in the Good Friday Agreement.

Answered by James Brokenshire

The agreement with the DUP reiterates that. This means that we will continue to govern in the interests of all parts of the community and to work in partnership with the Irish Government, in accordance with the well-established three stranded approach.
