Question to the Department for Exiting the European Union :

To ask the Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, what proportion of staff in his Department are employed as apprentices.

Answered by Kwasi Kwarteng

Apprentices are and continue to be a valued part of DExEU’s workforce and contribute to the development of our pipeline of future talent for DExEU and the wider Civil Service.

The proportion of staff at DExEU employed as apprentices, as at 31 January, is 2%.

Question to the Department for Exiting the European Union :

To ask the Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, how many and what proportion of the staff employed by his Department are apprentices.

The Department for Exiting the European Union employs 17 apprentices through the Civil Service Fast Track Apprenticeship Programme. The Department for Exiting the European Union now has over 600 staff based in the UK. We regularly review headcount to ensure we are appropriately staffed to deal with all aspects of the negotiations.
