Speech in Westminster Hall - Tue 06 Jan 2015
Offshore Wind Developments

"The hon. Gentleman makes a good point. I have spoken on many occasions about the difficulties that grid connections pose for many renewable generators, particularly in more remote areas such as the north of Scotland. There are a huge number of issues in relation to that. To be fair, efforts …..."

"Again, I do not disagree with the hon. Gentleman. He tempts me into a discussion about the postage stamp model of transmission charges, which is a similar issue, but I shall not go there because I am coming to a close and other people want to speak.

The industry also …..."

Written Question
Welfare Tax Credits
Tuesday 2nd December 2014

Asked by: Mike Weir (Scottish National Party - Angus)

Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, what assessment he has made of the average total processing time of applications for tax credits where the assessing officer has issued a request for additional documentation in respect of single person status and tax credits have been suspended pending examination of that documentation.

Answered by Priti Patel - Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs

The vast majority of undeclared partner interventions are carried out at the post award stage and do not affect the processing time for new claims, therefore HMRC do not hold the data requested.
